There were four Tests comprising of two exercises to each Test.
| A long double mark, shots fired, on rising land with
dummies thrown but landing in grass, out of sight. The second dummy
thrown was picked first |
Picking Up" exercise in woodland in to ferns, bracken
and thorn bushes.4 dummies placed. No shots fired. Two out of four
dummies to be retrieved. |
Two shots fired and a dummy thrown the other side of
a stone wall into
long grass but before this retrieve was taken a blind had to be picked
down
the field into a ditch on the edge of a wood. |
Water Test. A shot was fired and a dummy thrown in to
the water, landing out of sight of the dog. However, another dummy
had already been placed on the bank. The dummy that had been thrown
in to lilies and rushes had to be picked first. Once the dog was sent
the competitor was allowed to move sideways in order to see the dummy
and the dog. Numerous dogs winded the dummy on the bank and picked
it first thus causing several failures. |

Sunday, 21st May 2006 was atrocious weather and rained virtually non stop
all day. A local farmer had to come and bring several bales of straw to
put down in the gateway of the car park field. Lots of cars were towed
out throughout the afternoon. Our field looked like a battle had taken
place!!
On the good side, however, we had 71 entries which we consider to be
excellent because of the inclement weather.
| A good time was had by all as competitors and spectators
congregated around the "Chef's Mobile Kitchen"!! There was
quite a "family atmosphere" and seats and benches around
the Mobile Kitchen. We were very fortunate with our choice of Judges,
Stewards and, most of all, lots of helpers. |

The Raffle, once again, was a great success and Sean McGrath's young
daughter did a sterling job in cajoling money our of everyone!!
